Why Celebrate America?
For those of us “water fossils” (as distinguished from “fossil waters”) who were around way back in 1976 when we celebrated America’s Bicentennial, it’s a question we’d never ask. We all knew America was the greatest country in the history of the world – the freest, most prosperous, most generous nation God ever created.

Was America perfect? It was not. The 1970s were rough. Cities were crumbling. Crime rates were soaring. Inflation hammered the middle class. The President of the United States resigned in disgrace – something that had never happened before or since. Movies were filled with paranoid conspiracies about shadowy nefarious government agencies, unpopular foreign wars, and gun-toting vigilantes.

But none of this bad news and cynicism made us question the idea of America, the land of opportunity, where all men were created equal, where freedom of religion and private property rights were held sacred, and rags-to-riches stories were admired and celebrated. The American Dream was alive and well, even if the American reality didn’t always quite measure up. A little movie called “Rocky” came along during that darkness, touched our bruised hearts, and reminded us of the beauty and purity of that dream.

Half a century later, as we approach America’s 250th birthday, some are questioning all that. Some say the very idea of American Exceptionalism is wrong, or bad. That our nation needs to undergo something called “fundamental change.”
But it ain’t so.
America today remains the beacon of hope for the world, the shining example of man’s highest aspirations and best intentions. The greatest minds and boldest visions still find their freest and fullest expression in America.

WellJet® is a perfect example. It began as the brainchild of Jeffrey B. Glass, founder of HydroPressure Cleaning, Inc. Jeff had been inventing, designing, building and deploying high and ultra-pressure hydrojetting tools for more than twenty years by the time he thought up WellJet®. He’d done it all: hydrodemolition, surface preparation, abrasive cutting, tunnel cleaning, obstacle clearance – you name it. He looked at the field of water well development and rehabilitation, and thought he could revolutionize the discipline by using nothing more than water, pressure, and proprietary technology to deliver unequalled energy downhole – removing surface encrustation, opening clogged perforations, and breaking down obstructions in the gravel pack and near-wellbore formation to restore free water flow.

That “Eureka!” moment was more than fifteen years ago. Since then, WellJet® has successfully restored thousands of wells around the world. Whether first choice or last resort, WellJet® has delivered – in all types of wells, all types of well construction, geological formation, and style of perforations.

As America reaches her Semiquincentennial, honoring heroes of the past from Columbus to Washington, Thomas Edison to Henry Ford, Lewis & Clark to the Wright Brothers to Elon Musk, we marvel at our rich history and look forward to a limitless future.

All of us at WellJet® celebrate America with pride, joy, gratitude and humility. We live to serve!
